Mrs. Blakeney-Saltus joined Caron Bermuda as the Regional Vice President in December of 2008. In her role, she builds on existing programs and offerings at the nonprofit addiction treatment facility through advocacy, development and community relations.
She worked with The Council Partners Charitable Trust (Bermuda), a private funding partner for substance abuse and prevention and treatment agencies, and was a former board member of Caron Bermuda. Most recently she held the position of Development Director at the Bermuda National Gallery, (Bermuda), where she successfully managed and implemented their annual membership and corporate giving campaigns.
With a strong background in business development, administration and non-profit management, Mrs. Blakeney-Saltus brings a sensibility of both the challenges intrinsic in development and the opportunities to transform lives. She is committed to the spirit of philanthropy, being of service to her community and engaging with entities that provide meaningful contribution to the overall betterment of the people in her island home.
In 2007, she was honored by the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce as one of the 100 Women “Who Rock the Rock” for contributions made in philanthropy and entertainment in Bermuda. She also serves on the Boards for the Raleigh Bermuda and African Diaspora Heritage Trail Foundation (ADHT), and is a member of the Allocations Committee of The Argo Group.
She studied at University of Western Ontario, Canada and completed her Cours de Langue et Civilisation Française Certificate de Langue Française Supérieur from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. Gita is committed to the spirit of philanthropy, being of service to her community, and engaging with entities that provide meaningful contributions to the overall
betterment of the people of her island home.

As part of the Caron Bermuda staff, Fiona Elkinson provides addiction counseling services, facilitates group programs, and is the point of contact to provide access to residential care at the Caron US Treatment Centers for our clients. Fiona studied Education at Sydney University and has taught in Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel and Bermuda before she did her Masters in Counseling while in Bermuda through Indiana University. She has been an educator and counselor in Bermuda for twenty-two years, working in several schools including Saltus Grammar School for six years where she established the Counseling Department. She has also worked as a Counselor at Benedict Associates and at Bermuda Professional Counseling Service where she manages the Bermuda DUI Education Program. Fiona specializes in adolescent and addictions counseling, and is passionate about the development of our young people as healthy and productive individuals.
