New Teen Drugs Programme to Offer Intensive Outpatient Treatment
The opening of an Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programme (AIOP) was announced at a joint press conference at HSBC, Hamilton, on November 15, by Caron Bermuda, Bermuda Youth Counseling Services (BYCS); Glenn A. Blakeney, Minister of Youth, Families and Sports, and Philip Butterfield, CEO, HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited (HSBC).

Catlin End-to-End Passes the $4 M Mark
Despite reaping less than its usual number of pledges, this year’s Catlin End-to-End was able to present Bermuda charities with $282,500.
The Island’s biggest annual fundraising event also celebrated breaking the $4 million mark for its 24 years in operation.

A member of the famed Kennedy clan who has battled drug and alcohol addiction will deliver the keynote address at a dinner hosted by an addiction treatment organisation.
Christopher Kennedy Lawford, a nephew of the late US President John F Kennedy, has been in recovery for more than 24 years and will share his experiences at the first Richard J Caron Award of Excellence Dinner.

Charity Event Helps Fund Anti-violence Scheme
Substance abuse treatment and counselling centre Caron Bermuda hopes to tackle gang and violence problems with the launch of a new programme. The Adolescent and Family Group Programme is based on referrals from Bermuda Youth Counselling Services, Mirrors and the Technical Education Centre, as well as high schools.
