About Caron Bermuda

The impact of substance abuse is one of the greatest challenges Bermuda has ever faced.

The effects of this problem on the health and safety of the community and the economy have been, and continue to be, of great concern to the people of Bermuda.

In September 2005, Caron Treatment Centers (Caron US) partnered with Fair Havens Christian Care Association of Bermuda (Fair Havens) to determine the need for additional quality addiction treatment services in Bermuda. Their findings showed that local assessments followed by overseas treatment have generated good initial outcomes over the years but only for those patients fortunate enough to be able to access them. Additionally, upon return to the island, those who received overseas treatment had access to only limited continuing care treatment programmes.

As a result, Caron Bermuda was formed from an affiliation between Caron US and Fair Havens. Caron Bermuda, a not-profit organization, provides direct access to off-island residential treatment as well as on-island non-residential continuing care and group programmes at its Smiths Parish facility. Over 300 individuals have benefitted from the services at Caron Bermuda since its inception in 2007. Additionally, more than 25 individuals have benefitted from treatment scholarships, and 62 persons have received overseas residential treatment.

Caron Bermuda is here to help. We offer direct access to off-island quality residential treatment plus on-island non-residential continuing care programs, Caron Bermuda is poised to help the people of Bermuda.
